Referral Services

We utilize a wide variety of board certified specialists in all parts of the U.S. Thanks to the introduction of "telemedicine," we are able to electronically transfer medical records and images to top specialists in the country regardless of location.

Fees

Our hospital and staff are supported only by your prompt payment of fees, therefore payment is expected in full when services are rendered.  We accept Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Care Credit.  We do require a deposit of 50% when your pet is hospitalized.

Care Credit, a medical credit card that may be used at many different medical & dental practices, is available.  For more information please ask us. For established patients, we can provide an estimate for services during a consultation.

We offer after-hours emergency services in conjunction with other local veterinary practices in the area.  Practices serve as the emergency provider on a rotational basis, the veterinarian on call can be reached through our answering service.

Training

Adelshire Training - Maria Allio: Valley Animal Hospital does not have an on-site trainer, however there is only one person that our staff feels strongly about recommending.  Maria Allio is an excellent trainer and there is no doubt in our minds that you will agree.  She has an extensive background in training and her philosophy is outstanding.  She started training dogs in 1986 and started her own school in 1992. She has a dog of her own that she has trained to an AKC Obedience title CDX (Companion Dog Excellence).

She also raises and trains CCI (Canine Companion for Independence) puppies, and is now on her fourth puppy. Maria also worked in the veterinary field for 8 years as a veterinary assistant and has dealt with all types of breeds. 

She enforces the handler's role as PACK LEADER and her techniques of correction include: collar, firm voice or growl, a scruff shake and if needed an alpha roll over.  These are techniques that pack leaders (alpha members) would use.  She also utilizes the power of long downs and does not tolerate hitting a dog.  Dogs do not hit each other and therefore they do not understand this human reaction to anger.  You may feel in control but you have wasted your effort and risk losing your dog's trust in you.  If you would like more information or want to register for her classes, she can be reached at (607) 797-5481.
